909(C)

INTRODUCTION

The 909(C) connects up to 5 NMEA 0183 talkers and combines their data on to one line. Applications include combining the data from several sources into ECDIS, radar or data logger, via its data input port.

The unit does not discriminate the data through put. It stores and forwards it on a first in first out basis. The unit may be called a multiplexer or integrator.  As such it is ideal for creating a ship data highway.  Further combiners may be added. 

Attention is to be given to possible overload of the output channel, as it will not accept more than 480 characters per second through it.  The 909 datafiltermay be required. It will pass only selected sentences, and reduce the rate of others. The 909 is programmed to your exact requirement.

SPECIFICATION

INPUT: 5 NMEA 0183 ports. The <lf> character marks the end of each sentence.

OUTPUT: NMEA 0183 data is output on a first message-in first message-out principle. Data is discarded in the event of overload, so that recent data is output, not historical data.

POWER:         9 to 32v DC at 200mA.

HOUSING:     Duck Egg Green diecast box 222 x 146 x 55mm. Fitted with compression glands. Quantity to suit.

FEATURES:   LED’s on data in and out and bicolour status led. Power fail and program run watchdog circuit.

All connections removable terminal blocks.
