YOKOGAWA DATA

CONVERSION INTERFACE

INTRODUCTION

When replacing a Yokogawa gyrocompass with a new gyro do not forget the autopilot. The repeaters may accept synchro but the autopilot only accepts a proprietary Yokogawa data format.

The interface reads in NMEA 0183 heading data. It outputs Yokogawa proprietary data.

Other versions of this interface are available, programmed to output for instance, SKR80, LR40, Furuno, step, and different NMEA 0183 sentences.

SPECIFICATION

INPUT:            NMEA 0183 port. Programmed for all NMEA heading sentences, plus Cetrek and Yokogawa 4800 data. Gyro takes priority over magnetic input, automatically.

OUTPUT 1:    NMEA 0183, $HEHDT,xxx.x,T crlf as default. Output rate default is 1 per second and whenever heading changes.

5v CMOS limited 5mA drive. NMEA 0183, RS422, RS232 compatible.

OUTPUT 2:    Yokogawa proprietary data. 5v CMOS drivers 5mA.

POWER:        9 to 32v DC at 200mA.

HOUSING:     Duck Egg Green diecast box 222 x 146 x 55mm.

                     Optional Steel enclosure 224 x 216 x 140mm for stepper input.

FEATURES:   LEDs on data in and out and bicolour status led.

Power fail and program run watchdog circuit.

All connections removable terminal blocks.
